Pet Boarding at Riversbend Boarding

You can't always be with your pet—or take them with you! Sometime work or a holiday calls you away, but your pet still needs the same loving care and attention throughout your absence. At Riversbend Boarding & Grooming we strive to be your pet's home away from home. Our pet boarding facility in Big Rapids is on Northland Drive, only a short distance away from our animal hospital, and is fully dedicated to boarding, so you can expect the warmest of welcomes for your pet.

Pet Boarding: What You Need to Know

Our aim at Riversbend is to make sure your pet feels at home and well-loved while you are away. Experienced team members and veterinarians maintain the pet boarding facility, and they expertly attend to your pet's needs daily. We accommodate primarily cats and dogs, but can also look after some birds and pocket pets. If your pet suffers from ongoing health issues, they will receive their medication as prescribed throughout their stay. Furthermore, here are a few additional reasons you should bring your pet to board with us:

  • We walk your dog 3 times a day to meet their exercise and energy needs.
  • We maintain a pest-free, climate-controlled environment so your pet is comfortable and itch-free.
  • All pets must be up-to-date on their vaccinations in order to stay with us.
  • Each guest has their own bedding and dishware, which are all frequently cleaned.
  • We suggest you bring food from home, but if not, pets are fed a well-balanced, veterinarian-recommended diet.
  • Veterinarians on team members monitor pets daily and can administer medications and perform regular check-ups as needed.
  • Additionally, you are welcome to send your pet with their own toys and treats to make them feel more at home.

Help is Never Too Far

A veterinarian is always available for consultation at our pet boarding facility and will handle mild cases in-house. However, in the event your pet suffers from a medical emergency, our hospital is nearby to take the call. We'll be able to safely and quickly transfer your pet to our animal hospital for full treatment and more comprehensive care.
